  • SDR or inbound support. You won't be building all of your own pipeline from zero.

Based only on what the posting says. Flags are a starting point for your first call, not a final judgment.

WHY NUMERIC Every business runs on accounting, but the systems underneath it were built for a different era. Today’s ERPs don’t store a company’s financial data. They store a diluted copy of it. Every contract, lease, and invoice gets flattened into a journal entry, and the context that made it meaningful is thrown away. That’s why accounting teams spend every month re-checking numbers, stitching together spreadsheets, and waiting on engineering, and why AI struggles to do real accounting work. Accounting doesn’t have a reporting problem. It has a data problem. Enter Numeric: the data platform finance teams run on. We started with the month-end close, where the data problem hurts most, and hundreds of finance teams now run their close on Numeric. That work led us to rebuild the system of record itself. In September 2026 we launched the Financial Data Platform (FDP), a platform built for the agent era. Instead of a journal entry, the real business object enters the system and the accounting is derived from it. Every number is traceable to its source, reporting works on any dimension, and accountants and AI agents finally have enough context to work together. While others bolted AI features onto the old data model, we built a new one. We have a growing base of customers who love our product, including Anthropic, Plaid, Brex, Betterment, Wealthfront, and Asana. We’ve raised $89M from top-tier investors including IVP, Menlo Ventures, Founders Fund, and 8VC, along with founders and executives from Ramp, Segment, and other category-defining companies. We’re hybrid but in-office first, with teams in New York, San Francisco, and London, and we just shipped the product that will define our next decade. There’s never been a better time to join. About This Role As a Sales Engineer, you'll be the technical expert partnering with our sales team, helping accounting & finance leaders understand how Numeric solves their most complex accounting challenges. The product is moving fast, customers are getting more sophisticated, and the SE role is at the center of every major win. We’re looking for someone with experience in technical selling to the OCFO and can hold their own with a Controller pushing back on the technical detail. This role is your path to owning bigger deals, shaping the playbooks the team runs on, and helping define what world-class presales looks like. What you'll do - Independently lead demos, discovery sessions, and proof-of-concept engagements across mid-market and select enterprise accounts - Partner closely with Account Executives to develop technical win strategies and drive deals forward - Build credibility with senior finance stakeholders including CFOs, Controllers, and FDs of Finance as a trusted domain expert - Gather and synthesize customer feedback to inform product roadmap priorities. Partner closely with PMM and product to shape the future of the platform - Develop and maintain reusable demo environments, technical collateral, and enablement materials for the broader tea About You - 3–5 years of total experience, with time as a Sales Engineer/Solution Consultant or Implementation Consultant at an ERP or FP&A platform (e.g., NetSuite, Workday, or Pigment), or time in an accounting & finance org with a passion for more customer-facing work - Solid accounting and finance domain knowledge, with the ability to hold a credible conversation with a Controller or CFOs - A track record of running demos, POCs, and discovery independently on deals of real complexity - Based in the London Nice To Haves - Experience contributing to an SE function at a high-growth startup - ACCA/CIMA or formal accounting background - Familiarity with accounting close management or financial reporting workflows How We Work: This role is hybrid in London (hybrid but in-office first, with flexibility to manage your schedule as you see fit). We strongly believe we will only be successful if everyone on the team is anchored in our following set of core principles: - Brick by Brick: To win, our team needs to show up and execute in each domain every day. - Love the Game: We focus on the craft and a deep sense of giving a f*ck. We’re building a company full of people who are equally engaged and motivated. - SALY: We refuse to accept “Same As Last Year.” For too long, accounting and finance systems have reflected outdated processes instead of reimagining what’s possible. We’re driven by a first-principles approach to building better solutions. - Own the Outcome: We own our results. We typically hire builders and give them large mandates with high-trust. Engineers are responsible not just for code, but for ensuring the product is solving the end problems of the users. - Earn the right: We’re impatient to deliver results. We relentlessly iterate, measure, and improve. Every day is an opportunity to beat our prior best, raising the bar for the value we deliver to customers.
