What Cribl sells

Manages machine data for IT and security teams

Big companies' IT and security teams generate huge amounts of telemetry, which is the data machines send about what they are doing. This product gives them choice, control, and flexibility to manage and analyze that data, whether it comes from people or AI agents. With it, they can build what comes next.

Ask hard questions

Too much is left unsaid. Make them answer before you invest.

Pay
Base is listed but not OTE. Ask what the variable is and how many people hit it.
Transparency
Says nothing about quota, attainment, deal size, territory or sales cycle.
Pipeline
A mix of self-sourced pipeline and inbound or SDR help.
Time on market
Open 6 days.
Company hiring
Ramping up: posted 15 sales roles in the last 30 days. That many open roles can also mean churn. Ask how many reps are still there from last year.

Based only on what the posting says. Flags are a starting point for your first call, not a final judgment.

Questions to ask on the first call

Built from what this posting leaves out. How they answer tells you as much as what they say.

  1. 1.

What percentage of fully ramped reps hit quota last year?

OTE is what you could earn. This is how likely you are to earn it.

  2. 2.

What's the OTE, and what did the median rep earn last year?

Base is what you're guaranteed. OTE and the median show the upside.

  3. 3.

What's the annual quota, and how was it set?

A quota built from real data is a target. Otherwise it's a hope.

  4. 4.

How long is ramp, and what's the quota during it?

Full quota on day one means you start behind.

  5. 5.

Is the territory new or existing? Who had it before?

An existing book is a head start. Greenfield means building from zero.

  6. 6.

Why is this role open? Did someone leave, or is it new?

New headcount is growth. A replacement means someone left. Ask why.

When the offer comes

Save these for later. They land better once they've said yes to you.

  1. 1.

Can I see the full comp plan in writing, including clawbacks and accelerators?

What's in writing is what gets paid. Read it before you sign.

  2. 2.

Can I see the actual comp distribution for the team last year, not just the OTE?

The spread shows what most reps really take home. OTE is just the target.

  3. 3.

I'd be walking away from earned commission to join. Is there room for a sign-on bonus to help cover that?

Leaving money behind is a fair reason to ask. The worst answer is no.

Partner with Marketing on co-marketing, demand generation, and field events. - Executive alignment and reviews: Build relationships with CSP executives, sales leaders, and technical architects. Lead regular business reviews and executive briefings, sharing scorecards, pipeline insights, progress against commitments, and actions to strengthen the partnership. - We are a remote-first company and work happens across many time-zones - you may be required to occasionally perform duties outside your standard working hours If You’ve Got It - We Want It - 5–10+ years in enterprise software sales, business development, or strategic alliances in SaaS or the ISV ecosystem. - Track record of achieving or exceeding partner-sourced or co-sell revenue targets with major cloud providers. - Strong understanding of cloud ecosystems, marketplaces, co-sell programs (such as AWS ACE, Microsoft Partner Center, or GCP Partner Advantage), and consumption-based business models. - Ability to build executive relationships and influence matrixed sales organizations. - Strong strategic, analytical, communication, and presentation skills; able to manage complex joint pipelines and translate technical solutions into business value. - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience preferred. #LI-PL1 #LI-Remote The salary for this role is dependent on geographic location and will be based on the individual candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
