Why it matters: OTE tells you what you could earn. Attainment tells you how realistic it is.

Ask: “What percentage of fully ramped reps hit quota last year?”

What Doppel sells

Finds and takes down impersonation scams, trains staff

Scammers copy a company's executives, staff, and brand to trick people with phishing, impersonation, and fraud across online channels. Doppel finds these threats, helps take down the attacker setups behind them, and trains employees with simulated attacks. Companies can then cut off scams faster and help their people spot them.

Red flags

None spotted.

Green flags

  • SDR or inbound support. You won't be building all of your own pipeline from zero.
  • Real coaching. The posting commits to regular coaching or call reviews. A bad attainment number usually means no coaching and no standard, not bad reps.

Based only on what the posting says. Flags are a starting point for your first call, not a final judgment.

Questions to ask on the first call

Built from what this posting leaves out. How they answer tells you as much as what they say.

  1. 1.

What percentage of fully ramped reps hit quota last year?

OTE is what you could earn. This is how likely you are to earn it.

  2. 2.

What percentage of reps on the team have been here more than 18 months?

Tenure shows whether people stay long enough to get paid.

  3. 3.

Has the comp plan changed in the last 12 to 18 months? What changed?

A plan that changes every year means the goalposts keep moving.

  4. 4.

What are the base and the OTE for this role?

No point investing hours before you know the number.

  5. 5.

What's the annual quota, and how was it set?

A quota built from real data is a target. Otherwise it's a hope.

  6. 6.

Why is this role open? Did someone leave, or is it new?

New headcount is growth. A replacement means someone left. Ask why.

When the offer comes

Save these for later. They land better once they've said yes to you.

  1. 1.

Can I see the full comp plan in writing, including clawbacks and accelerators?

What's in writing is what gets paid. Read it before you sign.

  2. 2.

Can I see the actual comp distribution for the team last year, not just the OTE?

The spread shows what most reps really take home. OTE is just the target.

  3. 3.

I'd be walking away from earned commission to join. Is there room for a sign-on bonus to help cover that?

Leaving money behind is a fair reason to ask. The worst answer is no.

You will directly manage a team of SDRs and own their day-to-day performance, coaching, development, and pipeline generation goals. This is an in-office leadership role based in Austin, TX. What You’ll Do Lead, Coach & Develop the SDR Team - Directly manage a team of SDRs responsible for outbound prospecting, inbound lead qualification, lead nurturing, and qualified pipeline generation. - Provide consistent 1:1 coaching, call reviews, pipeline reviews, and performance feedback to help each SDR achieve and exceed goals. - Establish clear expectations around activity, meetings, qualified opportunities, pipeline creation, and overall performance. - Build individualized development plans and create clear career paths for SDRs to grow within Doppel’s Sales organization. - Identify performance gaps early and provide actionable coaching and support to improve results. - Foster a high-energy, collaborative culture centered around accountability, learning, recognition, and continuous improvement. - Partner with Sales leadership to recruit, onboard, ramp, and retain high-performing SDR talent. Performance Management & Operational Excellence - Establish and manage SDR KPIs, activity expectations, pipeline targets, conversion metrics, and team dashboards. - Run effective team meetings, 1:1s, pipeline reviews, call coaching sessions, and performance reviews. - Analyze individual and team performance to identify trends, coaching opportunities, and areas for improvement. - Monitor conversion throughout the SDR funnel, including outreach-to-meeting, meeting-to-opportunity, and pipeline creation. - Partner with RevOps to improve reporting, lead routing, territory alignment, CRM hygiene, and overall SDR productivity. - Use data to continuously improve team capacity, productivity, conversion, and pipeline attainment. Build a Modern, AI-Enabled SDR Motion - Help SDRs effectively leverage AI and automation to improve prospect research, personalization, messaging, prioritization, and productivity. - Partner with RevOps to implement workflows using intent signals, enrichment data, AI-assisted prospecting, and sales engagement technology. - Identify opportunities to automate repetitive work so SDRs can spend more time engaging high-value prospects. - Experiment with new prospecting strategies, messaging, channels, and technologies to improve pipeline generation. - Balance automation and scale with thoughtful, personalized outreach to strategic accounts. Cross-Functional Partnership - Partner closely with Account Executives and Sales leadership to align SDR activity with territory and pipeline priorities. - Collaborate with Marketing on campaigns, inbound lead follow-up, target accounts, events, and messaging. - Work with Product Marketing and Sales Enablement to ensure SDRs understand Doppel’s products, competitive positioning, buyer personas, and value proposition. - Partner with RevOps to continuously improve systems, reporting, processes, and SDR workflows. - Bring feedback from prospects and the SDR team back to GTM leadership to improve messaging, campaigns, and go-to-market execution. What We’re Looking For - 5+ years of B2B SaaS sales development or business development experience, including experience as a high-performing individual contributor. - 2+ years of direct people management experience leading SDRs. - Proven track record of coaching BDR/SDR teams to achieve or exceed pipeline generation goals. - Experience directly managing individual contributors, including performance management, career development, onboarding, and coaching. - Strong understanding of outbound prospecting, inbound qualification, account-based prospecting, and pipeline generation. - Experience partnering closely with Account Executives and Sales leadership on territory and account strategies. - Strong coaching skills across cold calling, email outreach, objection handling, discovery, qualification, and prospecting strategy. - Data-driven approach to managing SDR performance, including activity, conversion, meetings, opportunities, and pipeline metrics. - Experience using modern CRM and sales engagement platforms and an interest in leveraging AI and automation to improve SDR productivity. - Strong understanding of modern prospecting strategies, intent data, enrichment tools, sequencing, and personalization. - Ability to create a high-performance culture while maintaining a strong focus on employee development and career progression. - Comfortable operating as a hands-on, frontline manager who is actively involved in the day-to-day work of the team. - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment with ambitious pipeline and growth targets. - Excellent communication, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications - Experience managing BDRs or SDRs within cybersecurity, enterprise SaaS, fraud prevention, threat intelligence, or an adjacent market. - Experience leading BDR teams selling into enterprise or technical buyers. - Familiarity with cybersecurity buyers, including Security, IT, Risk, Fraud, and executive stakeholders. - Experience helping build or scale a SDR organization at a high-growth, venture-backed startup. - Experience implementing structured coaching, onboarding, and career development programs for BDRs. - Familiarity with AI-enabled prospecting, intent data, enrichment platforms, and outbound automation. - Experience working within an in-office BDR/SDR environment.
