Why it matters: OTE tells you what you could earn. Attainment tells you how realistic it is.

Ask: “What percentage of fully ramped reps hit quota last year?”

What Peec AI sells

Shows brands where they appear in AI answers

People now ask ChatGPT, Claude, and Google's AI Overviews which products to buy, and most brands have no idea if they show up in those answers. Peec AI gives marketing teams data on how visible their brand is across these tools and how it compares to competitors. Now they can see where they stand and where to win.

Red flags

None spotted.

Worth asking about

  • Open 90+ days. This role has been posted for three months or more. Ask why it's been hard to fill, and whether anyone left it.

Green flags

  • Publishes OTE. It tells you the on-target earnings up front. Most postings don't.

Based only on what the posting says. Flags are a starting point for your first call, not a final judgment.

Questions to ask on the first call

Built from what this posting leaves out. How they answer tells you as much as what they say.

  1. 1.

This role has been open a while. What's made it hard to fill?

The answer tells you what candidates saw that made them walk.

  2. 2.

What percentage of fully ramped reps hit quota last year?

OTE is what you could earn. This is how likely you are to earn it.

  3. 3.

What percentage of reps on the team have been here more than 18 months?

Tenure shows whether people stay long enough to get paid.

  4. 4.

Has the comp plan changed in the last 12 to 18 months? What changed?

A plan that changes every year means the goalposts keep moving.

  5. 5.

Who sits with reps and reviews calls each week?

Coaching is often what's behind a good or bad attainment number.

  6. 6.

Why is this role open? Did someone leave, or is it new?

New headcount is growth. A replacement means someone left. Ask why.

When the offer comes

Save these for later. They land better once they've said yes to you.

  1. 1.

Can I see the full comp plan in writing, including clawbacks and accelerators?

What's in writing is what gets paid. Read it before you sign.

  2. 2.

Can I see the actual comp distribution for the team last year, not just the OTE?

The spread shows what most reps really take home. OTE is just the target.

  3. 3.

I'd be walking away from earned commission to join. Is there room for a sign-on bonus to help cover that?

Leaving money behind is a fair reason to ask. The worst answer is no.

ABOUT PEEC AI Peec AI is the analytics platform for AI search. People increasingly discover products and make buying decisions through ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Google's AI Overviews instead of traditional search, and most brands have no idea where they show up in those answers. Peec gives marketing, SEO, and growth teams the data to see exactly that: how visible their brand is across AI platforms, how they compare to competitors, and where to win. We are defining this category, and the market is moving with us. Peec is a Series A company backed by 20VC and Singular, that went from $0 to $15M ARR in 18 months, with a 100+ person team across our Berlin HQ and our New York office. ABOUT THE ROLE We're hiring the founding SDR for our New York office. You'll build the outbound engine for North America from scratch, prospecting into SEO, marketing, and growth leaders at mid-market and SMB companies across the US and Canada, and generating the pipeline our New York AEs close. You'll report to our Head of Sales, Americas. Founding means what it says here. There is no US playbook yet. You'll decide which accounts are worth calling, what the opening line is, which sequences earn replies, and what the motion looks like by the time the second and third SDRs arrive. You'll do it with a Head of Sales who has already built this and Berlin's playbook to borrow from, but the US version is yours. If you get a rush from picking up the phone, love the puzzle of finding the right person to call, and want to sell a product genuinely at the frontier of where search is heading, this is the seat. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Drive outbound prospecting across North America, identifying and engaging decision-makers in SEO, marketing, and growth functions - Execute personalized, high-quality outreach with cold calling at the core and email and LinkedIn in support, generating qualified meetings for our New York AE team - Build the US outbound playbook: target account definition, sequences, messaging, and the prospecting approach the next SDRs will inherit - Use AI tooling to research prospects, personalize at scale, and sharpen your approach faster than a manual motion allows - Work closely on targeting and positioning, and tell us honestly what is landing in the US market and what is not WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - A track record of hitting or exceeding activity and meeting targets in a previous SDR or BDR role - A natural on the phone who genuinely enjoys cold calling and sees every dial as an opportunity, not a chore - Driven and self-directed, with a habit of setting ambitious targets and working steadily until you hit them - Passionate about technology and the role AI is playing in reshaping how businesses operate, ideally someone who already uses AI tools day to day - Highly coachable, treating every conversation as a data point - Excited to learn the full sales cycle and grow into an Account Executive role. Our New York AE seat is the next rung, and we would rather promote you into it than hire around you - Based in New York and excited to be in the office five days a week BONUS POINTS - Experience with outbound tooling such as Clay, Apollo, Lemlist, or similar - Familiarity with the SEO, content marketing, or digital analytics space - Experience as an early or founding SDR somewhere, or building a motion in a new market - Existing network in New York's startup, SaaS, or marketing ecosystem - You already know what GEO and AEO stand for. WHAT WE OFFER - Competitive salary and meaningful equity: everyone at Peec owns a piece of the upside - Comprehensive benefits package - Collaborative, high-energy in-office work environment - Opportunity to make a significant impact and define a new market category EEOC STATEMENT Peec AI is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law. COMPENSATION The base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000 annually with anticipated on-target earnings being $95,000 to $110,000. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on factors including the candidate's experience, skills, qualifications, and location, in accordance with applicable New York law.
