The job
- What you'd do
- Win new customers and build relationships with existing ones around Wichita Falls, Texas, selling equipment that moves and lifts goods in warehouses and factories. You'll make sales calls, give product demos, and write proposals.
- What you'd sell
Heavy construction equipment, plus parts and repair service
When a construction company needs heavy machines for a job, it has to find the right equipment and keep it in good repair. The problem is, a machine that needs repairs or routine checkups can sit idle until someone gets to it. ASCO Equipment sells construction equipment and handles the parts, repairs, and preventative maintenance plans, so customers' machines stay running.

The Braun Read
Proceed with cautionA few things here deserve a hard look before you spend time on it.
- Pay
- No pay listed at all.
- Transparency
- Shares 1 of 5. Mentions territory. Ask about quota, attainment, deal size and sales cycle.
- Time on market
- Brand new.
- Company hiring
- Ramping up: posted 11 sales roles in the last 30 days. That many open roles can also mean churn. Ask how many reps are still there from last year.
Red lights
- Big earnings claims, no numbers. It sells uncapped or unlimited earnings but never says what anyone actually earns.
- Pay. No pay listed at all.
Yellow lights
- Same job posted many times. The company has 8 or more open postings with this exact title. Could be a big build-out, could be a revolving door. Ask how many reps they hired last year and how many are still there.
Green lights
Questions to ask on the first call
Built from what this posting leaves out. How they answer tells you as much as what they say.
- 1.
What did the median rep and the top rep actually earn last year?
"Unlimited" is a ceiling, not a number. You need the median.
- 2.
How many reps are you hiring for this, and how many from last year's class are still here?
Hiring a lot can mean growth, or people leaving.
- 3.
What percentage of fully ramped reps hit quota last year?
OTE is what you could earn. This is how likely you are to earn it.
- 4.
What percentage of reps on the team have been here more than 18 months?
Tenure shows whether people stay long enough to get paid.
