Why it matters: OTE tells you what you could earn. Attainment tells you how realistic it is.

The job

What you'd do
Sell software that resolves customer support issues on its own to big companies across North America, from first call to signed deal. You'll find many of your own leads by calling target companies and spotting promising existing users.
What you'd sell

Helps support teams have AI answer customers and fix issues

When a support team has to answer a customer's question, they usually read the ticket, then hunt through the helpdesk, the customer records and the help articles to find the answer. The problem is, every ticket takes a person's time, and customers wait while the pile grows. Botpress builds AI that answers customers and takes action in the tools a company already uses, so routine problems get fixed without someone digging through each system.

Red lights

  • "Unlimited earnings," no numbers. It sells uncapped or unlimited earnings but never says what anyone actually earns.

Green lights

None spotted.

Based only on what the posting says. Lights are a starting point for your first call, not a final judgment.

Questions to ask on the first call

Built from what this posting leaves out. How they answer tells you as much as what they say.

  1. 1.

What did the median rep and the top rep actually earn last year?

"Unlimited" is a ceiling, not a number. You need the median.

  2. 2.

What percentage of fully ramped reps hit quota last year?

OTE is what you could earn. This is how likely you are to earn it.

  3. 3.

What percentage of reps on the team have been here more than 18 months?

Tenure shows whether people stay long enough to get paid.

  4. 4.

Has the comp plan changed in the last 12 to 18 months? What changed?

A plan that changes every year means the goalposts keep moving.

  5. 5.

Who sits with reps and reviews calls each week?

Coaching is often what's behind a good or bad attainment number.

  6. 6.

Why is this role open? Did someone leave, or is it new?

New headcount is growth. A replacement means someone left. Ask why.

› When the offer comes

Save these for later. They land better once they've said yes to you.

  1. 1.

Can I see the full comp plan in writing, including clawbacks and accelerators?

What's in writing is what gets paid. Read it before you sign.

  2. 2.

Can I see the actual comp distribution for the team last year, not just the OTE?

The spread shows what most reps really take home. OTE is just the target.

  3. 3.

I'd be walking away from earned commission to join. Is there room for a sign-on bonus to help cover that?

Leaving money behind is a fair reason to ask. The worst answer is no.

Help enterprises bring real AI to their customer experience. Most enterprise support teams have spent years building on platforms they rely on every day. Those platforms hold their tickets, workflows, knowledge and customer history. What’s missing is AI that can actually do the work: resolve issues, take action across systems and hold up at enterprise scale. That’s what Botpress does. We’re the enterprise-grade AI agent platform for customer experience, and we’ve been building AI-first from day one. Today over 1 million AI agents run in production on Botpress, and more than 4,000 customers use the platform like American Express and GE. We pioneered tool calling for AI agents and were the first company to bring a commercial retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) offering to market. AI isn’t a feature we added. It’s what the whole company is built on. We work with the systems our customers already use. We integrate with them, partner with them and make them work better. We’re looking for a senior seller who has done this before: someone who has walked into an organization, sold a CX transformation and helped turn an AI vision into production results. About the role We’re hiring a Senior Account Executive for the North American market. You’ll report to the Director of Sales and own complex, high-value deals from first conversation to signature. This role suits someone who sells transformation, not seats. Your buyers are CX, support and operations leaders trying to decide what AI should look like in their organization. They’ll want a peer who understands their stack, their metrics and the risks of getting AI wrong in front of customers. You’ll have a Solutions Engineer alongside you, but you should be able to hold your own in a technical conversation about how AI agents work, how they connect to existing systems and what it takes to run them in production. You’ll also build much of your own pipeline. That means running strategic outbound into named target accounts and finding the enterprise opportunities hiding among our existing sign-ups and dormant accounts. If you’ve been waiting for a seat where your expertise shapes the deals you run, this is it. What you’ll do - Lead complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles for AI-driven CX transformation, from discovery and vision-setting through business case, negotiation and close - Help CX and support leaders see what AI agents can do inside their existing environment, including their helpdesk, CRM, knowledge base and back-office systems, and build a credible path to production - Build the business case: resolution rates, cost-to-serve, customer satisfaction and agent productivity, tied to outcomes the executive team cares about - Partner closely with Solutions Engineering to design solutions and proofs of value that run against the prospect’s real systems and data - Build your own pipeline through targeted outbound into named enterprise accounts and by finding opportunities in our existing user base - Work alongside the ecosystem partners and platforms our customers already rely on, positioning Botpress as the AI layer that makes their existing investments more valuable Requirements - 5+ years of closing complex B2B SaaS deals, with a track record of hitting or beating quota in a full-cycle role - Experience selling AI solutions: conversational AI, AI agents, automation or ML-driven products. You can explain how these systems work and where they fail. - Experience selling CX or support transformation: you’ve sold to heads of support, CX, contact center or customer operations, and you understand their world, including the platforms they run, the metrics they’re measured on and the change management involved - A technically fluent seller. You’re comfortable talking about APIs, integrations, data and security with an IT or engineering stakeholder, then turning that into business value for an executive - Experience running consultative, value-based sales cycles with multiple stakeholders and business cases, often including a proof of value - A history of self-sourced pipeline. You can name enterprise accounts you opened yourself and walk us through how you won them. - Strong written and spoken English; this role covers the North American market - Bonus: experience at a CX, contact center, BPO, conversational AI or AI platform company, or experience selling alongside or through the platform ecosystem in the CX space About Botpress Botpress is the enterprise-grade AI agent platform for customer experience. We raised a $25 million Series B in 2025, and we’ve stayed deliberate about growth capital-efficient and focused. Our technical depth is our advantage. We pioneered tool calling for AI agents, brought the first commercial RAG offering to market, and today support over 1 million production agents for more than 4,000 customers. Our team includes some of the most experienced people in applied AI, and that expertise shows up in every deal you run. At Botpress, everyone is an owner. We hire people who are curious, driven and eager to grow, and who want to change how millions of customers interact with the companies they do business with. Benefits - Competitive base salary with uncapped commission - Work at one of Canada’s fastest-growing AI startups - Work with a talented and passionate team - 4 weeks of vacation - Paid sick and parental leave - Comprehensive health, dental, vision, travel and life insurance - Funding for education and skills development - RRSP program with a 50% employer match on up to 4% of salary - STM transit subsidy - A fully renovated office with your own desk (no hot-desking) - A fully stocked fridge and cupboard (we take snacks seriously) and weekly socials
