Questions to ask on the first call

Built from what this posting leaves out. How they answer tells you as much as what they say.

  1. 1.

What percentage of fully ramped reps hit quota last year?

OTE is what you could earn. This is how likely you are to earn it.

  2. 2.

What percentage of reps on the team have been here more than 18 months?

Tenure shows whether people stay long enough to get paid.

  3. 3.

Has the comp plan changed in the last 12 to 18 months? What changed?

A plan that changes every year means the goalposts keep moving.

  4. 4.

Who sits with reps and reviews calls each week?

Coaching is often what's behind a good or bad attainment number.

  5. 5.

What are the base and the OTE for this role?

No point investing hours before you know the number.

  6. 6.

Why is this role open? Did someone leave, or is it new?

New headcount is growth. A replacement means someone left. Ask why.

› When the offer comes

Save these for later. They land better once they've said yes to you.

  1. 1.

Can I see the full comp plan in writing, including clawbacks and accelerators?

What's in writing is what gets paid. Read it before you sign.

  2. 2.

Can I see the actual comp distribution for the team last year, not just the OTE?

The spread shows what most reps really take home. OTE is just the target.

  3. 3.

I'd be walking away from earned commission to join. Is there room for a sign-on bonus to help cover that?

Leaving money behind is a fair reason to ask. The worst answer is no.

About Flosum Every large company now runs critical parts of its business on Salesforce: sales, service, financial data, patient records, citizen services. When a release breaks something or data goes missing, revenue stops and regulators call. Flosum is the platform these companies trust to ship changes safely, protect their data, and recover fast. We are in the middle of the most exciting chapter in our history. Our customers have relied on our Salesforce-native platform for years. Now we are bringing them a new cloud-native platform they can run on AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or on-premises. We have also launched sandbox management built for the AI era, so teams can test AI agents such as Agentforce on production-ready environments in minutes instead of days. Our customers include some of the most demanding enterprises in banking, insurance, healthcare, the public sector, and technology. They don’t buy us casually, and they don’t leave us casually. Your job is to make sure they never want to. The role You will own a book of enterprise accounts and one number: retained revenue. You decide which accounts need you most this week, and you go there. This is a commercial role. You will spend your time with executives, not running support tickets. What you will do - Own renewals across your book, from strategic accounts to smaller ones, and protect every dollar of recurring revenue. - Build relationships with the executives who decide: CIOs, CTOs, VPs of Engineering, and heads of Salesforce platforms. Reach past your champion when the account needs it. - Turn red accounts green. Spot risk early, build a save plan, and run it with urgency. - Move customers from our Salesforce-native products to our cloud-native platform, and make the business case for why it matters to them. - Defend your accounts against competitors, in-house builds, and new enterprise architectures. - Pull the right people in. Hold product, support, engineering, and customer success accountable for what your customers need. - Find expansion opportunities and hand them to our sales team with a clear plan. - Run your book with discipline: accurate forecasts, clean renewal pipeline in Salesforce, no surprises. Requirements What you bring - 7+ years in enterprise account management, renewals, or customer-facing sales at a B2B software company. - You have carried a significant book of business (ideally $5M+ in annual recurring revenue) with individual accounts above $250K. - You have sold or renewed complex IT solutions: DevOps, data protection, security, infrastructure, or developer platforms. Technical buyers trust you. - A track record of saving at-risk renewals by going to the executive level, with the numbers to prove it. - Commercial intensity. You negotiate well, you push for multi-year terms, and you are comfortable with hard conversations about price and value. - You know how NRR and GRR are calculated and how your work moves them. - Clear, concise writing and speaking. You can brief a CIO in five minutes. - Experience in the Salesforce ecosystem is a strong plus. Benefits Why join now - You will work with customers at the moment they move to the cloud. Few account managers get to shape a transition this large. - Our products sit in the path of AI adoption. Every company deploying AI agents on Salesforce needs to test, release, and protect them safely. - You will have real ownership, direct access to leadership, and the room to build how account management works here. - Competitive base plus variable compensation tied to retention.
