Red lights

  • "Unlimited earnings," no numbers. It sells uncapped or unlimited earnings but never says what anyone actually earns.

Green lights

None spotted.

Based only on what the posting says. Lights are a starting point for your first call, not a final judgment.

Questions to ask on the first call

Built from what this posting leaves out. How they answer tells you as much as what they say.

  1. 1.

What did the median rep and the top rep actually earn last year?

"Unlimited" is a ceiling, not a number. You need the median.

  2. 2.

What percentage of fully ramped reps hit quota last year?

OTE is what you could earn. This is how likely you are to earn it.

  3. 3.

What are the base and the OTE for this role?

No point investing hours before you know the number.

  4. 4.

What's the annual quota, and how was it set?

A quota built from real data is a target. Otherwise it's a hope.

  5. 5.

Where does pipeline come from: inbound, SDRs, or me?

Tells you how much of your week is prospecting versus selling.

  6. 6.

Why is this role open? Did someone leave, or is it new?

New headcount is growth. A replacement means someone left. Ask why.

› When the offer comes

Save these for later. They land better once they've said yes to you.

  1. 1.

Can I see the full comp plan in writing, including clawbacks and accelerators?

What's in writing is what gets paid. Read it before you sign.

  2. 2.

Can I see the actual comp distribution for the team last year, not just the OTE?

The spread shows what most reps really take home. OTE is just the target.

  3. 3.

I'd be walking away from earned commission to join. Is there room for a sign-on bonus to help cover that?

Leaving money behind is a fair reason to ask. The worst answer is no.

LegalVision is a market disruptor in the commercial legal services industry. Our mission is to power the success of every business by delivering legal support that is proactive, affordable and commercial. Our innovative membership model and custom-built technology allow our lawyers to provide a faster, better quality and more cost-effective client experience. LegalVision was founded to improve access for every business to quality legal services, to disrupt the traditional law firm model, and to promote a culture of technological innovation in the legal industry and beyond. As a member of our Growth team, you will play a critical role in bringing this mission to life. If you are excited about the prospect of being a part of an innovative and growing business that offers challenging work, a fast-paced environment, and impressive professional development opportunities, then joining our team will be the perfect career move! The Opportunity LegalVision is not your typical law firm! We operate on a unique membership model that empowers businesses to take a proactive approach to their legal needs. Rather than reacting to problems after they arise, our clients are equipped to set themselves up for long-term success with continuous, on-demand legal support. In this role, you’ll engage directly with SME and mid-market business leaders across England to uncover both their immediate legal needs and long-term business goals. Your mission is to demonstrate how LegalVision’s membership can deliver significant value - not just for a single matter, but as an ongoing partnership. Some leads may come in with a specific project in mind. It’s your job to look deeper - to understand their operations, growth plans, and potential risks - and show how our membership can support their business at every stage. With a range of pricing tiers and contract lengths, we’re equipped to support businesses of all sizes and industries. While prior experience in consultative B2B sales is essential, legal sector experience is not required. You’ll receive comprehensive training to build your knowledge of the legal and commercial challenges UK businesses face. Some of your leads will be inbound, but with an uncapped commission structure, the sky’s the limit for a motivated sales rep with a hunter mentality. Driven team members who proactively leverage their networks and other channels to bring in new members will be rewarded accordingly. The Ideal Candidate - Experienced: Minimum 2 years of experience in a consultative B2B sales environment in a BDR or BDM position. Closing experience will be highly valued. - A fast learner and a strong communicator: You are able to pick up complex concepts quickly and explain them to clients in a way your client understands. You are a confident communicator and can find the perfect balance between powerful persuasion and being unhelpfully pushy. - Passionate about the client experience: You are focused on your clients and you’re dedicated to creating experiences that exceed client expectations. You know that the way to win is to delight your clients at every opportunity. - Personable, resilient and a culture champion: A friendly, warm and professional demeanour will get you far. You celebrate the ups and bounce back quickly from your learnings. - A Go Getter: Winning for yourself and for your clients is in your DNA. You’re a self starter and you want to be the best. The Perks - Competitive base salary and uncapped commission structure. - Fast-paced environment with accelerated growth opportunities for high performers. - Welcoming office environment in Ancoats. - 25 days holiday (excluding bank holidays), enhanced maternity pay, contractual sick pay, paid volunteering and birthday leave. - Annual health and wellbeing allowance. - Annual budget to spend on external learning and development opportunities. - Regular team socials and events. Apply Today If this sounds like the type of opportunity you have been looking for to accelerate your career, we’d love to hear from you! Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so you’re encouraged to apply early to avoid missing out. Good luck!
