Red lights

None spotted.

Yellow lights

  • German required. The posting asks for fluent German. Worth knowing before you apply if you only sell in English.

Green lights

  • SDR or inbound support. You won't be building all of your own pipeline from zero.

Based only on what the posting says. Lights are a starting point for your first call, not a final judgment.

Questions to ask on the first call

Built from what this posting leaves out. How they answer tells you as much as what they say.

  1. 1.

What percentage of fully ramped reps hit quota last year?

OTE is what you could earn. This is how likely you are to earn it.

  2. 2.

What percentage of reps on the team have been here more than 18 months?

Tenure shows whether people stay long enough to get paid.

  3. 3.

Has the comp plan changed in the last 12 to 18 months? What changed?

A plan that changes every year means the goalposts keep moving.

  4. 4.

Who sits with reps and reviews calls each week?

Coaching is often what's behind a good or bad attainment number.

  5. 5.

What are the base and the OTE for this role?

No point investing hours before you know the number.

  6. 6.

Why is this role open? Did someone leave, or is it new?

New headcount is growth. A replacement means someone left. Ask why.

› When the offer comes

Save these for later. They land better once they've said yes to you.

  1. 1.

Can I see the full comp plan in writing, including clawbacks and accelerators?

What's in writing is what gets paid. Read it before you sign.

  2. 2.

Can I see the actual comp distribution for the team last year, not just the OTE?

The spread shows what most reps really take home. OTE is just the target.

  3. 3.

I'd be walking away from earned commission to join. Is there room for a sign-on bonus to help cover that?

Leaving money behind is a fair reason to ask. The worst answer is no.

Once a lead is qualified, you will own and close suitable opportunities directly, with our Technical Sales team supporting demos and technical discussions where needed. You will be expected to work to clear SLAs and targets at a high activity level, take initiative, and build smarter ways of working, including automation and AI-driven workflows, rather than wait for direction. Key Responsibilities - Qualify inbound leads in close collaboration with the Marketing team, responding quickly and with high quality. - Generate sales qualified leads through outbound prospecting, using phone, email and LinkedIn as appropriate. - Staff Soracom's booth at trade shows and events across the UK and Europe, engage with prospects in person, and follow up on event leads before and after each event. - Uncover prospect needs, generate interest and recommend the right Soracom products and services. - Own and close suitable sales opportunities directly, including preparing quotes and coordinating technical support where required. - Identify and hand over more complex or strategically significant opportunities to Account Executives or Strategic Sales. - Plan and run outbound campaigns on your own initiative, based on territories and target segments. - Manage lead flow and sequences in Salesforce and Outreach, and track leads through to acceptance or close. - Share insights from your inbound, outbound and event activity with Marketing and Sales to continuously improve prospecting strategy. - Build and improve repeatable processes, using automation and AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini to increase your reach and efficiency. - Consistently deliver against defined SLAs (such as lead response time) and KPIs. Requirements Key Requirements - 2+ years of experience as an SDR, BDR or Inside Sales Representative in B2B tech, SaaS or telecommunications. - Proven track record in a structured, high-activity environment where call and email volume, response times and pipeline targets are tracked closely. - Solid understanding of IT and the SaaS business model, and the ability to quickly grasp technical concepts. - Experience prospecting across phone, email and LinkedIn, and adapting your approach to the audience. - Experience working with Sales and Marketing teams on lead generation. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English as well as strong presentation skills. - Strong listening and communication skills, and the ability to build rapport by phone, video and in person. - Self-driven and autonomous, able to start contributing quickly with minimal onboarding and to act on feedback right away. - Excellent time-management skills and the ability to thrive in a growing, fast-paced environment. - Able to work from home with a dedicated, quiet workspace. - Willingness and ability to travel within the UK and Europe for events, typically one to two events per quarter. - Hands-on experience using a CRM system to manage leads, track activities, and maintain accurate sales pipeline data. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace. Preferred Requirements - Business-level proficiency in French and/or German. - Experience closing small or transactional deals, including preparing quotes. - Experience using AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini) and automation to streamline prospecting and lead management. - Experience with Salesforce, Outreach and/or ZoomInfo/Lusha. - Experience staffing booths or representing a company at trade shows and events. - Knowledge of IoT, telecommunications or cloud, including basic understanding of servers, networking and AWS services. - Experience working with Slack. - A strong interest in emerging technology, especially how connected devices and IoT infrastructure are reshaping the technology landscape. Location Fully remote, with base in the UK and Germany preferred. Benefits - Flexible work environment — work from where you are most effective, with the ownership to remain reachable, collaborate seamlessly, and deliver the expected results. - Flexible work hours — maximise productivity and work-life balance while accommodating customer needs and team collaboration - Technology budget — work with the most up-to-date tools and leading AI platforms to help you innovate, learn, and do your best work - Skills-based career progression — advance based on impact, contribution, and performance rather than tenure - A truly rewarding culture — work with individuals from across the world who are at the very top of their game
