The job
- What you'd do
- Sell AI software to very big banks, insurers and asset managers in the UK and Europe. You'll find most of your own new opportunities rather than waiting for leads to come in.
- What you'd sell
Helps big companies build AI that uses their own data
When a big company wants AI to help its staff, it has to decide which information the AI should draw from. The problem is, AI that isn't tied to the company's real data can give answers nobody can rely on. Writer builds AI grounded in a company's own data, so staff get answers based on the information the company actually has.

- Where deals come from
- Mostly you. Expect a lot of outbound: cold calls, emails and LinkedIn.

Questions to ask on the first call
Built from what this posting leaves out. How they answer tells you as much as what they say.
- 1.
What percentage of fully ramped reps hit quota last year?
OTE is what you could earn. This is how likely you are to earn it.
- 2.
What percentage of reps on the team have been here more than 18 months?
Tenure shows whether people stay long enough to get paid.
- 3.
Has the comp plan changed in the last 12 to 18 months? What changed?
A plan that changes every year means the goalposts keep moving.
- 4.
Who sits with reps and reviews calls each week?
Coaching is often what's behind a good or bad attainment number.

This is a hybrid role based out of our London hub. You'll be reporting to our regional vice president.
🦸🏻♀️ What you need
- 7-10+ years of quota-carrying strategic SaaS sales experience with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding annual quotas in complex, value-based sales motions targeting Fortune 500 and Global 2000 financial services accounts
- Deep understanding of the UK and European financial services landscape — banking, asset management, insurance, and fintech — including its regulatory environment, buying cycles, and communication standards
- Demonstrated expertise in managing sophisticated enterprise sales cycles with multiple stakeholders, navigating procurement and security processes, and orchestrating cross-functional resources to drive deals through technical evaluations and executive approvals
- Executive presence and communication skills that allow you to credibly engage with C-suite buyers (CIOs, CDOs, CTOs, COOs), translate complex technical concepts into business value, and build authentic relationships based on trust and strategic insight
- Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to conduct discovery that uncovers underlying business challenges, connects AI capabilities to measurable outcomes, and creates urgency around transformation initiatives in regulated industries
- Experience in outbound prospecting, account mapping, and territory planning, with a hunter mentality that drives you to consistently create new opportunities rather than waiting for inbound leads
- Comfort with ambiguity and a bias for ownership — you thrive in fast-paced environments where you're expected to figure things out, make decisions with incomplete information, and drive your own success with minimal oversight
- Deep alignment with WRITER's values: you naturally Connect across functions and build collaborative relationships, you Challenge the status quo and aren't afraid to have difficult conversations, and you Own your outcomes with accountability and a commitment to long-term impact
⭐️ Is this you?
- You've sold into financial services institutions and understand what it takes to navigate complex, regulated buying environments — from security and compliance reviews to board-level approvals
- You're a closer who has consistently carried and exceeded seven-figure quotas, and you can point to deals where you created the opportunity from scratch rather than working an inbound lead
- You think like a consultant but sell like a hunter — your discovery uncovers pain buyers didn't know they had, and your storytelling connects AI to outcomes that matter to a CIO and a CFO alike
- You understand the UK FS market specifically — the players, the regulators, the buying rhythms — and you have or can build a network that opens doors
- You're comfortable in the boardroom and the back office — equally credible presenting an AI transformation vision to an exec team and working through the technical and procurement details with the people who sign off
- You move fast, own your number, and don't wait to be told what to do next
Preferred skills
