Why it matters: OTE tells you what you could earn. Attainment tells you how realistic it is.

Ask: “What percentage of fully ramped reps hit quota last year?”

What Ambience Healthcare sells

Helps doctors write notes as care happens

Care providers spend a lot of their day on paperwork, and that time is pulled away from patients. Ambience's software helps them write their notes in real time, so they can focus on the people in front of them.

Questions to ask on the first call

Built from what this posting leaves out. How they answer tells you as much as what they say.

  1. 1.

What percentage of fully ramped reps hit quota last year?

OTE is what you could earn. This is how likely you are to earn it.

  2. 2.

What percentage of reps on the team have been here more than 18 months?

Tenure shows whether people stay long enough to get paid.

  3. 3.

Has the comp plan changed in the last 12 to 18 months? What changed?

A plan that changes every year means the goalposts keep moving.

  4. 4.

Who sits with reps and reviews calls each week?

Coaching is often what's behind a good or bad attainment number.

  5. 5.

What's the base, and how is the rest paid out?

OTE without a base doesn't tell you what you can count on.

  6. 6.

Why is this role open? Did someone leave, or is it new?

New headcount is growth. A replacement means someone left. Ask why.

When the offer comes

Save these for later. They land better once they've said yes to you.

  1. 1.

Can I see the full comp plan in writing, including clawbacks and accelerators?

What's in writing is what gets paid. Read it before you sign.

  2. 2.

Can I see the actual comp distribution for the team last year, not just the OTE?

The spread shows what most reps really take home. OTE is just the target.

  3. 3.

I'd be walking away from earned commission to join. Is there room for a sign-on bonus to help cover that?

Leaving money behind is a fair reason to ask. The worst answer is no.

About Us: Here at Ambience, we never set out to be just another scribe. We’re building the AI intelligence platform that restores humanity to healthcare and drives meaningful ROI for health systems across the country. Our technology helps providers focus on delivering great care by removing the administrative burden that pulls them away from patients and away from their most impactful work. Ambience delivers real-time coding-aware documentation and clinical workflow support across ambulatory, emergency and inpatient settings at the top health systems in North America. Our teams operate relentlessly with extreme ownership to build the best solutions for our health system partners. We value candor, positivity and deep thought — and we expect a lot from each other because we know the problems we’re solving truly matter. Ambience was ranked #1 for Improving the Clinician Experience in the KLAS Research Emerging Solutions Top 20 Report, recognized by Fast Company as one of the Next Big Things in Tech, named one of the best AI companies in healthcare by Inc., and selected as a LinkedIn Top Startup in 2024 and 2025. We’re backed by Oak HC/FT, Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), OpenAI Startup Fund, and Kleiner Perkins — and we’re just getting started. The Role: The mission of an Account Manager (Care Transformation) is to build strong, long-term partnerships that drive meaningful positive change for providers, patients, and administrators across the healthcare landscape. You'll own your accounts from enterprise signature forward — retain, expand, renew — including the commercial outcomes that come with them. Working closely with leaders across health systems, you'll deepen adoption of Ambience from initial enterprise rollout into new care settings and new products. Your goal is to ensure Ambience delivers measurable clinical and financial outcomes as we grow our partnerships. As a trusted advisor, you'll align executive priorities with frontline needs to ensure Ambience enables better care at scale. What You'll Do: - Own the commercial trajectory of every assigned account. You'll protect and grow revenue through renewals and expansions, build renewal readiness well ahead of contract expiration, qualify expansion opportunities as they emerge, and run the commercial boundary with Sales cleanly. - Take the handoff and run. You'll accept ownership of accounts at enterprise signature — stakeholder map, relationship history, deal context — and drive adoption, utilization, and executive engagement across the deployed footprint from day one. - Build high-trust partnerships with clinical, operational, financial, and IT leaders across your accounts. You'll be the face of Ambience to our health system customers, earning the confidence of stakeholders from the C-suite to the front line and turning alignment into momentum. - Open new ground inside your accounts. You'll generate demand for new products and care settings — building clinical champions, running new-SKU pilots, and producing the proof points that convert into expansion. - Shape and deliver clear ROI narratives that speak to what health systems care about. You'll align stakeholders on value methodology early, own QBRs and executive readouts, and build the economic evidence behind every expansion and renewal. - Set the account strategy and keep an honest view of account health. For each account you'll put the strategy on paper — customer context, partnership assessment, path forward, quarterly goals — and maintain a scorecard that rates partnership strength on evidence, not sentiment. - Make us better, together. You'll capture repeatable playbooks and account frameworks to help the entire Care Transformation team level up. Who You Are: - 8+ years of experience in strategic account management, healthcare transformation, health tech implementation, or healthcare management consulting. You've worked closely with provider organizations and know how to navigate complex health systems. - You have owned commercial outcomes directly — renewals, expansions, pricing and packaging decisions, and contract negotiation. You've been in the negotiation, not next to it. - Proven track record of managing and expanding enterprise partnerships — you've led post-sale motions, grown deployed footprints into enterprise-wide relationships, and built champions across clinical, operational, and executive teams. - Exceptional communicator with the ability to switch fluently between clinical, operational, and financial language. You know how to meet stakeholders where they are and communicate with clarity and credibility across functions. - Comfortable operating independently in high-ambiguity environments. You bring structure where none exists, anticipate roadblocks, and take ownership without waiting for instructions. - Deeply mission aligned — you care about fixing what's broken in healthcare and are motivated by working with a team that shares that urgency. This role requires up to 30% travel. Travel will include onsite support during key customer events, stakeholder meetings, and QBRs across the U.S. All travel expenses are covered in accordance with Ambience's travel policy. Life at Ambience Working at Ambience means opting into a high-ownership, high-trust environment built for people who want to grow fast, operate decisively and focus on work that matters. This could be the right place for you if you want to - Work on mission-critical AI technology that directly improves clinicians’ day-to-day lives and health system financial health across some of the most complex, high-stakes workflows in the world. - Join a “dream team” culture where we hire exceptional people, expect exceptional outcomes and invest deeply in feedback and continuous growth. We operate as a championship team, and that means being ok with hard, uncomfortable, ambiguous problems that lead to real greatness. - Operate with real ownership and accountability in an environment where there are no bystanders: If something is broken, we fix it! You will have meaningful autonomy and be expected to drive work to completion. To help you do your best work, we pair these expectations with benefits intentionally designed to help you feel supported and safe at Ambience and beyond. Some of our key benefits include - Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents - 401(k) with a company match of up to 3% of base salary - A remote-friendly culture (with a San Francisco HQ) and full equipment provisioning to ensure you can work effectively from wherever you’re based. - Parental leave to support your family needs - Annual company-wide off-sites, team off-sites and regular team lunches and all-hands gatherings, with travel, lodging and meals covered - Flexible time off with no annual cap, company-wide holidays and an annual holiday shutdown from December 24–January 1 designed to support real rest and long-term sustainability.
