Why it matters: OTE tells you what you could earn. Attainment tells you how realistic it is.

Ask: “What percentage of fully ramped reps hit quota last year?”

What Qualtrics sells

Software for understanding how customers feel

A hospital wants patients to feel cared for, but its leaders often can't tell how people really feel about their visits. Experience management software helps organizations understand those feelings and act on them. Leaders can then focus on the moments that matter most to the people they serve.

Ask hard questions

Some good signs, but there's a red flag here. Get it answered before you invest.

Pay
No pay listed at all.
Transparency
Says nothing about quota, attainment, deal size, territory or sales cycle.
Pipeline
Mostly inbound or an assigned book.
Time on market
Open 8 days.
Company hiring
Ramping up: posted 16 sales roles in the last 30 days.

Red flags

  • "Unlimited earnings," no numbers. It sells uncapped or unlimited earnings but never says what anyone actually earns.

Green flags

  • SDR or inbound support. You won't be building all of your own pipeline from zero.
  • Pays accelerators. Higher commission rates once you pass quota. Overperformance actually pays.
  • Clear path to promotion. The posting spells out a path to the next role, like SDR to AE. Ask how long it took the last few people and what they had to hit.

Based only on what the posting says. Flags are a starting point for your first call, not a final judgment.

Questions to ask on the first call

Built from what this posting leaves out. How they answer tells you as much as what they say.

  1. 1.

What did the median rep and the top rep actually earn last year?

"Unlimited" is a ceiling, not a number. You need the median.

  2. 2.

What percentage of fully ramped reps hit quota last year?

OTE is what you could earn. This is how likely you are to earn it.

  3. 3.

What percentage of reps on the team have been here more than 18 months?

Tenure shows whether people stay long enough to get paid.

  4. 4.

Has the comp plan changed in the last 12 to 18 months? What changed?

A plan that changes every year means the goalposts keep moving.

  5. 5.

Who sits with reps and reviews calls each week?

Coaching is often what's behind a good or bad attainment number.

  6. 6.

Why is this role open? Did someone leave, or is it new?

New headcount is growth. A replacement means someone left. Ask why.

When the offer comes

Save these for later. They land better once they've said yes to you.

  1. 1.

Can I see the full comp plan in writing, including clawbacks and accelerators?

What's in writing is what gets paid. Read it before you sign.

  2. 2.

Can I see the actual comp distribution for the team last year, not just the OTE?

The spread shows what most reps really take home. OTE is just the target.

  3. 3.

I'd be walking away from earned commission to join. Is there room for a sign-on bonus to help cover that?

Leaving money behind is a fair reason to ask. The worst answer is no.

Strategic risks are encouraged and complex problems are solved together, by passing the mic and iterating until the best solution comes to light. You won’t have to look to find growth opportunities—ready or not, they’ll find you. From retail to government to healthcare, we’re on a mission to bring humanity, connection, and empathy back to business. Join over 5,000 people across the globe who think that’s work worth doing. Healthcare Account Manager Why We Have This Role We're looking for an Account Executive to build deep, strategic relationships with healthcare providers and help them expand how they use the Qualtrics Experience Management SaaS platform. This account management role focuses on growing existing customer accounts, rather than prospecting for new logos. You'll dig beneath surface answers to understand each customer's healthcare priorities, build a strategy around their program, and connect their needs with the right solutions across our suites. You'll work with a range of stakeholders, from CEOs and chief nursing officers to quality, HR, and marketing leaders and frontline staff. Success means understanding their different priorities and showing how our solutions can help address the problems they face in their day-to-day work. This role is based in Dallas with a hybrid working arrangement. How You’ll Find Success - Stay curious and coachable, asking questions to understand customers' needs and deepen your healthcare and product knowledge. - Balance long-term relationship-building with identifying growth and expansion opportunities within an existing book of accounts. - Understand how healthcare organizations operate, including their quality and safety priorities, decision-making structures, and the needs of different stakeholders. - Communicate confidently with executives, clinical leaders, quality directors, HR and marketing teams, and frontline staff. - Stay highly organized while managing a large portfolio and competing customer priorities. How You’ll Grow - Clear, structured promotion path via Qualtrics’ auto-promotion framework and continuous Career Action Planning with your manager. - Access to internal mobility platform Qmobility for additional growth opportunities. - Skill development in business acumen, complex negotiation, and consultative selling. - Opportunity to expand your healthcare expertise and deepen partnerships across strategic accounts. Things You’ll Do - Build and grow relationships with existing healthcare provider customers, taking a long-term, relationship-based approach to selling. - Develop account strategies that identify customer needs and opportunities to expand into additional solutions. - Lead discovery conversations, listen closely to customers' challenges, and position products that address those needs. - Navigate complex sales involving multiple buyers and stakeholders across a healthcare organization. - Deliver product demonstrations and explain the value of our solutions to both executive and operational audiences. - Manage a large book of business, stay organized across competing priorities, and maintain momentum across multiple customer relationships. What We’re Looking For On Your Resume - 5+ years of sales experience, including 2+ years in a closing role, with evidence of growing and developing customer accounts. - A working understanding of healthcare and the ability to navigate healthcare provider organizations, including conversations about quality, safety, and operational priorities. - Experience navigating complex sales with multiple stakeholders and adapting your approach to different audiences. - A consultative, problem-solving approach: you can connect what a customer needs with an appropriate solution rather than lead with a product pitch. - Strong organization and prioritization skills for managing a large portfolio of accounts. - Experience selling multiple products, a solution suite, or a platform is helpful. Your background does not need to be exclusively in SaaS or technology sales; what matters is your ability to navigate healthcare, manage complex sales, and build lasting customer relationships. What You Should Know About This Team - A healthcare provider account management team focused on long-term relationships and customer expansion, rather than new-logo hunting. - Work that spans multiple solution sets and a wide range of stakeholders within each customer organization. - An emphasis on understanding healthcare customers' problems and showing how the right solution can address them. Our Team’s Favorite Perks and Benefits - Competitive salary plus uncapped commissions and accelerators rewarding outstanding performance. - 100% merit-based promotions, driven by results and impact rather than politics or tenure. - Flexible hybrid work environment supporting jeans and dogs in the office. - Catered lunches, quarterly team socials, winter and summer parties, and extensive Qualtrics swag. - Private health insurance, annual Qualtrics Experience Bonus, wellness stipend to support your personal well-being and growth. The Qualtrics Hybrid Work Model: Our hybrid work model is elegantly simple: we all gather in the office three days a week; Mondays and Thursdays, plus one day selected by your organizational leader. These purposeful in-person days in thoughtfully designed offices help us do our best work and harness the power of collaboration and innovation. For the rest of the week, work where you want, owning the integration of work and life. #hybrid Qualtrics is an equal opportunity employer meaning that all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, status as a protected veteran, or any other protected characteristic. Applicants in the United States of America have rights under Federal Employment Laws:Family & Medical Leave Act, Equal Opportunity Employment, Employee Polygraph Protection Act Qualtrics is committed to the inclusion of all qualified individuals.
